The Chairman called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.

REQUEST: Application for Development Approval (DRI Approval) for Florida Gulf Coast
Technology and Research Center DRI on 727± acres, to allow for a mixed use
development consisting of 240 hotel/motel rooms; 650,000 square feet of retail floor
area; 400,000 square feet of office floor area, including medical office; and 3,897,000
square feet of industrial floor area.
Rezone 727± acres from Agriculture District (AG-2) to Mixed Use Planned
Development to allow for the development of 3,897,000 square feet of industrial use;
400,000 square feet of office, including medical office; 650,000 square feet of
commercial retail use; and 240 hotel/motel units. The planned maximum building
height is 120 feet (10 stories). The applicant indicates that blasting may be used in the
excavation of lakes or other site elements. The development will connect to potable
water and central sewer.

Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and Alico Road, east
of I-75,

Donna Marie Collins noted that Staff and the applicant were granted a continuance
of this case at the February 7, 2011 Zoning Meeting to June 6, 2011. Attorney Collins explained the purpose of
today’s hearing was to request that no action be taken and that, due to the complexities of this matter, it would not be
before the Hearing Examiner until later this month. She further advised that, upon receipt of the HE’s
recommendation; this matter would be re-advertised and brought to a Zoning Meeting sometime within the next six
months. No further Board action was required at this time.
The Chairman adjourned the meeting at 9:32 a.m.
